Rachel Nicola is a Washington native. She met her husband Dave Stoufer when he moved to Washington in 1979 to work at KCII Radio. A graduate of the University of Iowa, she practiced law in the Iowa City area. The couple returned to Washington in 1989. Rachel served as Washington County Magistrate from 1993-2003 and currently is retired. Her all-time favorite book is Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and the most recent volume she checked out of the library was The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. She was invited to join the Washington Free Public Library Foundation in November 2004.
